Yes, she knows the name makes her sound like a cartoon. Not her fault. Honey Parker is an award winning advertising creative. Beginning life as a New York advertising art director, Honey quickly switched over to copywriting. (Better hours.) The peak of her career on Madison Avenue was as Senior V.P. at the iconic Grey Advertising. Beckoned by a career as an LA freelancer, Honey answered, servicing both powerhouse agencies and creative boutiques. Her agency roster includes Saatchi & Saatchi, Rubin Postaer, Deutsch, Ogilvy, McCann, J. In 2008 (When the market crashed) Honey co-founded Slow Burn Marketing with fellow ad geek, Blaine Parker. Slow Burn's focus is on branding and brand-based marketing for small business. After decades of working with big brands, Slow Burn was a way to make Big-Brand fire available to the small-business owner. Honey is hands-on in all aspects of the agency. Client roster purposely kept small so work is kept potent. Client successes include:

  • Selling A Big Box: Rebranding standalone big box appliance store in So Cal, and updating their marketing program, with goal of attracting a buyer. In 24 months…sold!
 
  • Straight Talk, Better Vision: Rebranding and developing marketing for rural New Hampshire eye clinic. Flat for three years, the new brand and advertising bumped new patients up 100% in 90 days, and year-one revenue up 35%.
 
  • Extreme Sports Marketing: Rebranding of international extreme sports construction company, then using the new brand voice in multi-platform presentation that netted six-figure raise in a single client meeting.

You can hear Honey and her partner Blaine Parker on their weekly podcast, CoupleCo: Working With Your Spouse For Fun & Profit . CoupleCo is the #1-ranked podcast, featuring entrepreneurial couples who are crushing it in business without crushing each other. They also Co-Authored, Billion Dollar Branding: Brand Your Small Business Like a Big Business And Make Great Things Happen. Published by Morgan Stanley, it is a DIY guide demystifying brand and how to use its powers for good. After the book's release, the Parkers were invited to be Public Speakers On Branding & Advertising to audiences of business owners, ranging from 50 to 5,000, from Southern California to Singapore.

Along the way Honey has migrated to stand-up, screenwriting and directing. After winning the “Funniest Person in Advertising” competition at Stand-Up New York, her performance lead to touring dates and television appearances. She has authored three satire novels, sold several screenplays (co-authored with Blaine) though, as per Hollywood, none have been made. Behind the camera, Honey has directed the short film “Women With Beards” which appeared in the New York Short Film Festival and won honors at the Broad Humor Festival. Never one to shy from a punch, she once sparred with female boxing champion Christy Martin. An event for which she is most proud that she neither bled nor cried.
